TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A federal judge has ordered the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to help Kansas and Arizona enforce laws requiring new voters to provide proof of their U.S. citizenship. U.S. District Judge Eric Melgren in Wichita, Kan., ruled Wednesday that the commission has no legal authority to deny requests from Kansas and Arizona to add state-specific instructions to a national voter registration form. A plea agreement was entered Wednesday morning involving a first degree murder case. Riley County District Court Judge, Meryl Wilson heard the plea agreement for James McKenith (33), who was arrested and charged with first degree murder three days after John Burroughs (68) was found dead in his residence in September of last year. Prosecuting State Attorney, Barry Wilkerson shared the terms of the agreement, that he and Defense Attorney, J. Riley County Police  arrested Mohammed Abduljabbar, 26,  of Manhattan on a warrant for failure to appear.The original offense was listed as stalking after being served a protection order.   Abduljabbar was arrested near the intersection of 12th Street and Bluemont Ave. and is currently confined in lieu of a $25,000  bond. (AP)   Chiefs general manager John Dorsey says the controversial signing of wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders by AFC West-rival Denver has been “put to bed” and that he’s focused on what he can do during the rest of free agency and in the draft. Sanders had visited the Chiefs last week when reports began to surface he had agreed to a contract. Wamego City Commissioners gave their approval for the water tower painting project.  At Tuesday’s City Commission, Merl Page, City Manager, reviewed the bids received for painting the new Water Tower, which was tabled at the last meeting for further review.  Page said three bids were received, the lowest from Maguire Iron, Inc. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota for $79,720, Caldwell Tanks Inc. of Harrodsburg, Kentucky submitted a bid for $83,000, and Classic Protective Coatings of Menomonie, Wisconsin bid was $124,800.  Commissioner Vic Enns said we should get on with the project and made a motion to accept the bid from Maguire Iron, Inc. for…
