The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident Saturday morning involving two vehicles. Nathan Musil (32) of Marysville was traveling on Tuttle Creek Blvd in his 2000 Buick LeSabre when he failed to yield in time and struck a 2011 Chevy Impala driven by Willette Pitney (59) of Manhattan. Pitney was also traveling on Tuttle Creek Blvd, but was coming to a stop at the red light at Kimball Avenue. Neither driver was injured, but a passenger in Musil’s vehicle was. Joshua Musil (7), also of Marysville, was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center with unknown injuries.

The annual Manhattan MLK Jr. Community Celebration held Saturday night at Flint Hills Christian School, was a big hit. “Everybody was on one accord. It was a very cohesive atmosphere and it couldn’t be any better than this, I’m totally excited. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Federal prosecutors are requesting more time to share evidence with lawyers for a man accused of trying to drive a van carrying what he thought was a bomb onto the tarmac at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport. A filing Friday also asks a federal judge the court to designate the case against avionics technician Terry L. Loewen as complex. The designation eases speedy trial concerns and gives both sides more time to prepare for a later trial. The trial is now set for Feb. 18. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) The suspect in a Wichita bank robbery was quickly apprehended after a relative recognized televised images of the bearded, balding man in sunglasses and a bright green jacket. Investigators said the man entered a Bank of America branch Thursday afternoon and gave a teller a note demanding that money be put in a bag. The note ended with “thxs and pls.” The suspect took the bag and left. Police quickly released a surveillance photo to the media. The Manhattan High girls basketball team ran its win streak up to five games with a 63-43 win at Junction City on Friday night. Both teams struggled to hang on to the basketball as there was a combined 49 turnovers between the two teams.
