A Junction City man has entered a plea as charged in a felony animal cruelty case, which involved hanging a German Shepherd puppy until it died. Michael Hall, 47, entered the no contest plea Friday in Geary County Court. A psychological evaluation was ordered and sentencing for Hall is set for August 15th.

A Junction City man was arrested by Riley County Police Thursday night on a substantial Geary County warrant. Joshua Dantzler, 28, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department shortly before 8:30 p.m. on the Geary County warrant for failure to appear. Dantzler’s bond was set at $50,000.   The Geary County Sheriff’s Department report indicates their deputies took Dantzler into custody a couple of hours later for bond violation.   While details of the bond violation have not been released, Dantzler was arrested by Junction City Police in late April on aggravated battery charges, with victims reported to have substantial injuries.…

Members of the Riley County Police Department responded to a report of aggravated battery and domestic battery as well as criminal use of a weapon in the southeast portion of Manhattan early Friday morning. When police arrived they found that prior to their arrival a 30-year-old male struck a 41-year-old male in the head while wearing brass knuckles.   A 31-year-old female was also listed as a victim and injured.
