LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Lawrence police say they don’t suspect foul play in the death of a 44-year-old Lawrence man whose body was found near the Kansas River. The Lawrence Journal-World reports emergency responders were dispatched at 8:48 a.m. Saturday after a member of a river cleanup group reported finding the body. Police spokesman Sgt. Trent McKinley says a preliminary examination by a coroner and crime-scene investigators indicated there was no foul play. A three-run first inning and solid pitching carried K-State to a 3-2 win over Iowa in the Wildcats home opener. Shane Conlon got K-State on the board with an RBI-single after back-to-back hits from Ross Kivett and Carter Yagi to start the game.
