Kansas State University students have elected Charles “Reagan” Kays, senior in agribusiness, Weir, as student body president.   His running mate, Cody Kennedy, junior in secondary education and mathematics, Phillipsburg, will serve as student body vice president.   Kays and Kennedy plan to start work immediately on implementing their platform issues, which are streamlining tutoring services, increasing communication with all 475 student organizations and advocating for a medical amnesty law.   “I am most passionate about helping people and I want to do this for the rest of my life,” Kays said. “With the extraordinary opportunity to serve the students…

The Junction City man charged in the shooting death of Crystal Fisher (25), almost exactly four years ago, will be sentenced soon.  A federal jury returned a verdict Thursday convicting Marcus Roberson (32) of murdering the woman to keep her from giving information about his drug trafficking to federal law enforcement officers. Roberson faces one count of murder, one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, and one count of conspiracy to distribute powder cocaine. Manhattan High senior Matt Liotta signed his letter of intent to play soccer next season at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. NESU wasn’t the only school that Liotta was looking at.
