The MHS girls won the 14-team Washburn Rural/Great Plains Classic on Tuesday at Wamego Country Club. MHS scored a team total of 332, beating Washburn Rural by 3 strokes and Olathe NW by 17. Sophomore Lily Bahr placed 4th, shooting 80. Sophomore Kat Ball shot 82 and tied for 7th. Freshman Maddie Myers placed 9th, shooting 83.

A dedication ceremony is planned Friday for the Tracz Family Band Hall, located in the northwest corner of World War I Memorial Stadium at Kansas State University. Donors and patrons for the project, along with members of the Tracz family and The Pride of Wildcat Land will be in attendance. The event is open to the public and parking is available in the D1 lot adjacent to the band hall on Denison Ave. Friday’s dedication ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Be Able Community Center was mostly business-as-usual on Labor Day. The difference was a Monday BBQ. Executive Director Scott Voos says being available on holidays is important.
