A residential burglary led to thousands of dollars in damages and losses for a Manhattan man. On Wednesday, 37-year old Jayson Werner told Riley County police that the theft occurred overnight between November 20 and the 21 at his home located in the 800 block of Greenfield Cir. After forcibly gaining entry into the house, the suspect caused over $2,000 dollars-worth of damage to Werner’s 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle, while also making off with $2,220 in cash, a Kimber 1911 45-caliber pistol, and bullets. Yet another armed robbery in Manhattan, this time at the Dara’s Fast Lane at 5321 Tuttle Creek Blvd. A press release from RCPD Capt. Richard Fink says Dara’s management reported the robbery occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening when a white male presented the clerk with a note. The suspect then raised his jacket and revealed a gun in the waist band of his jeans, though at no point removed it from his pants. Riley County police have arrested a Manhattan man on a charge of sexual exploitation of a child. Michael Combs, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday, after a search warrant was executed at his home in the 2100 block of Patricia Place. The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation involving the possession of child pornography and was executed by the Riley County Police Department Internet Crimes against children Unit and the Special Investigations Unit. Combs’ bond has been set at $5,000.
