From K-State Athletics Sellout crowds are expected for K-State’s baseball series against Oklahoma this weekend as only standing-room tickets remain for Friday’s game while Saturday’s game is sold out, K-State Athletics officials announced Wednesday. Friday’s game, which is the annual Pack the Park Night at Tointon Stadium, will have a limited number of standing-room tickets available when gates open 90 minutes prior to first pitch at 6 p.m. Saturday’s game, scheduled at 4 p.m., is entirely sold out. From K-State Athletics Will Brennan and Zach Kokoska each homered while Dylan Phillips had a three-hit night as K-State went on to a 9-2 win over Omaha Tuesday night at Werner Park. K-State (20-22) used a five-run first, including a two-run home run by Kokoska, as it plated eight of its nine runs in the first three innings. Riley County’s Conner Holle (pronounced Holly) played a key role in getting the Falcons a pair of wins over Silver Lake last week. Holle was the winning pitcher in a 12-2 win and finished 5-7 at the plate with two 3 run homers, 6 RBI and 5 runs scored. He’s hitting .543 on the season with 14 RBI and 20 runs scored. Last season Holle started as a freshman on the Falcons 20-4 state team and hit over .400 with 32 RBI. K-State freshman Griffin Hassall was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following his career-long outing in picking up the victory over No. 19 TCU Thursday, the conference office announced Monday. Hassall, a native of Ontario, Canada, stifled the Horned Frogs’ offense, as he yielded one run while scattering three hits with five strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings of work. Hassall retired nine straight hitters during a stretch where he sat down 16 of 17 TCU batters overall.
