Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

Tonight’s game pits a pair of squads that have lost a lot of pieces coming in. With players leaving for the transfer portal or opting out to prepare for the NFL Draft, it’s a night of opportunity. In K-State’s case a large part of that change comes at wide receiver and, yes, even at punt returner. The early signing period saw Kansas State’s football program gain the signatures on letters of intent from 15 players, starting early Wednesday morning. Coach Chris Klieman addressed the math behind that number. The signing class consisted of 13 high school prospects and two community-college transfers, hailing from nine different states, including four from Kansas. Four of the incoming players are offensive lineman. Of the 15 signees on Wednesday, nine are expected to enroll at K-State for the 2024 spring semester. After scrambling to gain a lead at halftime Sunday afternoon, the K-State men’s basketball team couldn’t maintain in dropping a 62-46 decision to Nebraska. The Huskers out rebounded the Wildcats by 17 and the Cats only managed four field goal makes after halftime (16%) in suffering their third loss of the season and their first to a team not ranked in the AP Top 25 at game time. The K-State football team picked up its second major commitment in 24 hours yesterday as four-star wide receiver Trae Davis announced his plans to attend the school. Davis was originally committed to Washington State but pulled back on that as K-State’s interest warmed. The senior wide receiver is Troup High School’s single game, season and career record-holder in receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns and return yards. Days after he was removed from K-State’s mens basketball program, Nae’Qwan Tomlin will take advantage of his remaining eligibility and play at Memphis. The graduate transfer told On3 that he has committed to join the Tigers at the start of next semester. That follows a tumultuous week that included Tomlin being dismissed from the Wildcats and his graduation from K-State on Saturday.
