Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was arrested Monday in suburban Kansas City and is accused of causing criminal damage of more than $25,000. That’s according to a booking report from the sheriff’s office in Johnson County, Kansas. The report does not provide any details or indicate whether bond was set. The Chiefs said they were aware of the arrest but declined to comment. The 23-year-old Ross has appeared in all seven games with three catches for 34 yards this season. He spent all of last season on injured reserve after having foot surgery.

Manhattan High volleyball has clinched a berth in the 6A State Tournament field. It made quick work of Dodge City and Wichita Northwest on Saturday, winning both matches in two sets. The Indians are the seventh seed and are in Pool 2 for the tournament to be played in Salina. They’ll open Friday afternoon against Mill Valley, then face Olathe Northwest followed by a match with Garden City. Friday’s first match is at 4:30. The quest for a repeat in Class 6A football for the Manhattan Indians will see the Tribe host all but a potential sub-state matchup with Washburn Rural. The Indians finished a game back of the Junior Blues on the 6A West bracket and will open the playoffs against Wichita Southeast Friday night. Four players ran for more than 50 yards apiece as K-State racked up nearly 350 rushing yards as a team, part of a nearly 600 yard night in trouncing TCU 41-3. Kansas State (5-2, 3-1) answered the question of “Who will start” with the answer of “Both” on a night that saw Will Howard and Avery Johnson rotate series throughout. Wamego’s Addison Douglas shot a 146 over two days at Salina Municipal to win the 4A state golf individual crown. The sophmore won her second straight title with a three-over 73 yesterday. The Red Raiders finished second, though, ending a string of back-to-back titles. Hayden won the team title.

The Manhattan High girls golf team finished second at the 6A State Tourney, the first top three finish for the Indians in 15 seasons. Manhattan ended the two day affair in Emporia 24 strokes back of first place Olathe Northwest, while holding off Shawnee Mission East by three strokes to take second. Freshman Maddie Myers placed 4th, with a 2-day 4-over par total of 146. Sophomore Kat Ball shot 164 over the two days, good for 14th and Lily Bahr finished with a 165 over the two days, good for 16th.
