Boston (AP) – Raul Mondesi hit a bases-loaded triple and Eric Hosmer added a two-run single during an eight-run sixth inning, lifting the surging Kansas City Royals to a 10-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night to win their 7th straight series.
The inning was the biggest for the Royals since they scored eight against Arizona on Aug. 5, 2014. Nori Aoki hit a grand slam in that inning.
Salvador Perez hit his third solo homer in two games for Kansas City, which took two of three at Fenway Park and got its 17th win in 21 games.

Matt Strahm (2-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief for the win.
The Royals are a dangerous team down the stretch. They have won 17 of 21 games since a praying mantis appeared in their dugout at Kauffman Stadium. They are 19-7 in August after going 7-19 in July. According to the latest projections from FiveThirtyEight.com, the chance of postseason baseball returning to Kansas City now rests at 24 percent.
The Royals currently sit with a record of 68-62. 5.5 games back in the AL Central and three games back in the Wild Card standings.
