They were the chosen few to come before the board to receive praise for their achievement on receiving the 2013 Governor’s Achievement award.
Bob Shannon, superintendent, talked about the rigorous criteria the school had to meet to even be considered for this.
“To be considered for this award,” Shannon said. “The school must have been among the top five percent of schools in both reading and mathematics on the state assessments at their respective level and meet one additional measure of either attendance or graduation rate.”
During the meeting, Shannon also informed the board they are not out of snow days just yet. They do have enough for one more day in all schools if they were to need it.
The board approved the civil rights notification update.
Informational pieces for the board at Thursday’s meeting also included the Kansas Preschool program and the mid-year enrollment numbers.
The board will meet again on Wednesday, Feb 19 and their Winter Retreat is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 26.
