Ervin Santana Sharp Over 7 Innings as Royals Hold off Indians

Ervin Santana is pitching as good as he once was back in 2010 when he won 17 games in Anaheim. Santana (3-1) pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out five and walking none as the Royals (12-8) were able to survive and pick up a 3-2 victory on Saturday night. Greg Holland gave up two unearned runs in the ninth but was able to get his sixth save in seven opportunities. The Royals only had six hits in the ball game, Salvador Perez hit a two run home run in the second inning off Indians pitcher Scott Kazmir to get two on the board early. Alex Gordan went 2 for 4 in the game with a run scored. The Royals hold a one game lead in the AL Central over the Detroit Tigers and a two game lead over the Minnesota Twins. Since the first game was postponed due to rain on Friday night, a day-night doubleheader is scheduled for today (Sunday). Game one is set for a 1:10pm first pitch and game two is set for a 7:10pm first pitch.
