Manhattan Regional Airport recently completed a wildlife fence construction project. This announcement was made in a press release issued Monday morning.
The wildlife fence project involved installation of approximately 19,000 feet of eight foot tall perimeter fence. This segment of nearly three miles of fencing is the final installation of fencing that provides a protective barrier around the entire airport. It will ensure that deer, and other large animals, do not stray on airport grounds.
The total project cost was $988,886, and was funded on a 90/10 split between the Federal Aviation Administration and the City of Manhattan.
