Streb & Kinney Lead K-Staters at Colbert Charity Classic.

There’s definitely a K-State flavor to the first professional golf tournament at Colbert Hills, as the leaderboard is packed with current and former players after day one of the Colbert Charity Classic.   Robert Streb sits in second place after a 4-under par 68 to open the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series event, and sits one shot behind leader Chris Ward.  Joseph Kinney is also right in the mix at the top with a 3-under par 69, while Joe Ida carded a one-over par 73.  The projected cut line is 3-over, and that’s where both Kyle Yonke and Matt Van Cleave finished the first round. Two current K-Staters will have to likely shoot under par to play the final two rounds, as junior Curtis Yonke carded a 5-over-par 77 and sophomore Alex Carney turned in an eight-over-par 80.

Admission to the final three days of the Colbert Charity Classic is free at Colbert Hills.  For updated scores throughout the day, click here.
