HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) Western Energy says at least 500 homes in Hutchinson were without power after an apparent microburst from a storm that dropped about an inch of rain in some areas.
The Hutchinson News reports tree branches covered lawns and limbs dangled from power lines Sunday morning.
Several streets were blocked with branches before city crews came in and cleared the debris away.
A roof and shed in the south part of town also were damaged by the high winds.
The National Weather Service office in Wichita says the storm blew through the area around 4 a.m.
