The K-State women built a nine-point first half lead, but Texas claimed their first Big 12 victory by rallying for a 59-40 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Senior guard Brittany Chambers drained a three-pointer with 8:39 left in the first half to give the Wildcats a 22-13 lead. The Longhorns though would outscore K-State 46-18 the rest of the way. Nneka Enemkpali scored six down the stretch to within 26-24 at halftime. Texas opened the second half on a 20-3 run to put the game away as K-State shot just 4-of-27 from the field in the final 20 minutes, including 3-of-16 from three.

The Longhorns outrebounded the undermanned Wildcats 47-26, and had two players with double-doubles. Enemkpali had 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while Imani McGee-Stafford had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Chassidy Fussell added 10 points and seven rebounds for Texas (8-11, 1-7). Chambers led K-State (12-7, 3-5) with 15 points, but was just 5-of-17 from the field and 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Bri Craig also contributed 10 points.

K-State will have a bye in the Big 12 schedule, and then returns to Bramlage Coliseum for back-to-back games. The Cats will host Kansas next Saturday at 2:00pm in the Dillon Sunflower Showdown, followed by a tilt with Oklahoma on February 6th.
