    MHS Girls Falls to Olathe South in McPherson Semi-Final

    The Manhattan High girls basketball team will play for third place on Saturday night in McPherson after falling to Olathe South Friday night in the semi finals of the Mid America Classic 54-50.

    Manhattan (9-3) led by five at the end of the first half. The Falcons would outscore MHS in the second half 32-23. The Indians shot 38% from the field in the ball game including just 32% in the second half. Olathe South shot 47% from the floor and nearly 53% in the second half.

    Olathe South knocked down 15 of 22 free throws in the ball game compared to MHS who only took five free throws in the game.

    Manhattan was led in scoring by Gigi McAtee with 13 points, Kylie James had 10 for the Indians.

    MHS will play for third place on Saturday at 5:30 from the Roundhouse in McPherson.
