RCPD Report 4/20/16

RCPDReportThe Riley County Police Department arrested Timothy Anderson, 64, of Manhattan on April 19, 2016 at approximately 11:05 AM while in the 1800 block of College Ave. Anderson was arrested on the offense of aggravated assault of Law Enforcement Officers which occurred over the weekend in Riley County. This incident involved shots being fired in the direction of law enforcement. He was given a bond of $50,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stems from a warrant issued in Riley County, Kansas.


RCPD is investigating a burglary which occurred in the 1700 block of Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on April 18, 2016 after 8:00 PM and was reported on April 19, 2016 at approximately 8:40 AM. Nathan Humes, 38, of Manhattan reported to police that a red fire engine go-kart with Hardee’s Restaurant decals on the hood, a bicycle, a Garmin GPS, and a spade shovel were removed from an unsecured garage at his home. These items were valued at approximately $1,755.00 and currently suspect(s) are unknown. If you have information about this crime contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers where you can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.


Chance Crank, 21, of Topeka, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on April 19, 2016 at approximately 10:10 AM. Crank was arrested on the offense of probation violation which was listed on a warrant with “no bond.” At the time of this report Crank was not confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant originated in Shawnee County, Kansas.


Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of burglary to a vehicle which occurred in the 1500 block of McCain Lane during the early morning hours of April 19, 2016. Police found that Taylor Hegarty, 20, of Manhattan became the victim of this crime when 3 Michael Kors handbags were taken from her unsecured vehicle. The total estimated loss is approximately $770.00 and suspect(s) are unknown. If you have information about this crime contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.


David Dortch, 54, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 6000 block of Tuttle Terrace on April 19, 2016 at approximately 3:25 PM for the offenses of possession of a hallucinogenic drug and failure to appear. The failure to appear was listed on a warrant with an original offense of flee and elude. He was given a total bond of $7,000.00 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.


Police filed a report for the offense of lewd and lascivious behavior in the 1000 block of Hostetler Drive in Manhattan on April 19, 2016 for an incident that occurred at approximately 10:00 PM. Officers were told that an unknown white male with red hair exposed himself in public. Officers continue to investigate the matter and no further information was available at the time of this report.
