    UPDATE 3:12 p.m.:

The situation involving the active shooter in the Hawthorne Circle area of northwest Manhattan has been resolved and Riley County Police Director Brad Schoen said it has been resolved with no further injuries.

According to Schoen, the suspect peacefully turned himself over to police authorities. Schoen stressed that the scene is still active, as it will take time to process the scene.

Bergman Elementary School will remain in lockout for a while longer while RCPD continues the investigation. Schoen did not have a specific timeframe as to when that would be lifted.

Schoen declined to comment as to specific charges the suspect, who has not yet been identified, will possibly face.

    UPDATE 2:36 p.m.:

RCPD Director Brad Schoen gave a brief press conference and stated the shooting had occurred at 3716 Hawthorne Circle and involved a male suspect who had barricaded himself inside the home following a “domestic situation.”

The woman involved in the situation left the residence and was uninjured. It is currently believed the suspect is alone in the house.

Schoen said negotiations are ongoing, though he did add the man was currently unresponsive to police efforts.

    UPDATE:

Bergman Elementary School is in lockdown, per RCPD.
