A 1st Infantry Division soldier died Sunday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Fort Riley.
Pfc. Timothy Meuse lost control of his motorcycle late Saturday night on the post. He was transported to Irwin Army Community Hospital and died the next day. The accident is still under investigation by Fort Riley law enforcement.
Meuse was originally from Londonberry, New Hampshire and has been awarded the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
“Pfc. Meuse was beloved by his fellow soldiers,” said Lt. Col. Tyler Andersen, 1st Bn., 63rd Armor Regt., commander. “He was a great young soldier and everyone in the company is stunned by his loss.”
Meuse was an infantryman with Company C, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Inf. Div. The 20-year-old infantryman enlisted in February 2017 and had previously deployed from Fort Riley to Poland in September 2017.
