SHAWNEE COUNTY — A Topeka man faces charges related to allegations of human trafficking in what could be the first of many arrests.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says 54-year-old Michael A. Anderson was arrested without incident Monday morning following an eight-month-long investigation into suspected human trafficking. Anderson was arrested for rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery. He’s been booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, with formal charges pending.

Following his arrest, KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team served a search warrant at the residence.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME. Anyonymous tips can be submitted at kbi.ks.gov/sar.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are anticipated.
