Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd. and S. Dam Rd. near Manhattan on April 4, 2022, around 5:42 p.m. When officers arrived on scene the found a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage driven by Philip Clark, 64, of Clay Center had been traveling north on Tuttle Creek Blvd. and hit a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Eli Smith, 19, of St. George when Smith entered the intersection causing the crash. Clark was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a laceration to the head and chest pain. Smith was arrested for driving under the influence. Smith was issued a total bond of $750 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
