    Update: One person life-flighted following crash on Seth Child

    Update: Friday 4 p.m.

    One person was life flighted from an injury crash early Friday morning on Seth Child Road at the Anderson Ave. overpass.

    According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, two vehicles were involved in a head on collision just before 6:30 a.m. when a northbound Toyota Corolla crossed over the center line, striking a southbound Dodge Durango.

    The crash report states 23-year-old Austin Gano, of Manhattan, sustained serious injuries and had to be air lifted to KU Medical Center in Kansas City. According to the Riley County Police Department, Gano had to be extricated from his vehicle.

    The other driver, 40-year-old Eric Parish, of Manhattan, had no apparent injuries.

    The crash caused both lanes of Seth Child to be closed for about two hours during the Friday morning commute

    One person was life-flighted from an injury crash Friday morning at Seth Child Road over Anderson Avenue.

    According to RCPD, two vehicles were involved in an apparent head on collision in the northbound lanes of Seth Child Road on the bridge. Traffic was slowed in the area, with officials closing Seth Child between Amherst and Kimball Ave..

    The injured person had to be extricated.

    Crash details are pending from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
