Former Manhattan High School Principal Greg Hoyt has filed for a seat on the Manhattan-Ogden School Board.
Hoyt retired as principal in 2019, after six years at MHS and 31 years total working in the district, both as a teacher and as principal also at Eisenhower Middle School.
In an emailed statement to KMAN, Hoyt says “strong school boards are foundational to excellent public school systems,” noting that Manhattan and USD 383 “have a long history of providing the highest caliber education in the state and the Midwest.”
He says he hopes to bring his vast knowledge and experience to help continue that tradition.
Since leaving education, Hoyt has worked for Farm Bureau Financial Services and is currently employed with The Medicare Coach in Manhattan.
