The Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday in Ogden for the Lemdadi family. This was the group’s 31st home built in the community.
Executive Director Josh Brewer spoke about the group’s mission at the ceremony.

Brewer says the previous structure on the property was an area where improvement could be made and says he didn’t think it should just sit there.

The building process took over a year to complete. The Lemdadi family were presented with gifts as they were the first of three families to receive a home built across from Ogden Elementary School.
Habitat member Emily Herbig spoke about the family’s progress toward becoming homeowners and remarked that they completed a usually year-long process within four months.

The house is the first of three to be completed in the area of Ogden according to executive director Josh Brewer. A number of officials attended Thursday’s ribbon cutting including Riley County Commissioner John Ford.
