Kansas Department of Revenue holding contest on new personalized license plate designs

Current Kansas personalized license plate. The plate will be replaced by the winner of the contest in 2025.

The Kansas Department of Revenue announced on Monday that voting for the next Kansas personalized license plate has opened.

To vote on the personalized plates, Kansans can visit ksplates.kansas.gov to select their favorite design. Voting will go until Friday at 5 p.m. with the winning design being announced on Monday Aug. 12.

The voting on the personalized plates is different from the standard license plate designs that Kansans voted on last December. To streamline the process, the Department of Revenue incorporated feedback it received from last year’s voting to inform aspects of these designs, including Kansas outline, wheat and sunflowers.

The winning design will replace the current “Powering the Future” personalized license plate design. The winning plate will be released sometime in 2025.
