Design plans are underway for the extension of Excel Rd north from Harvest Rd to Junietta Rd, which would allow local traffic improved access to Oliver Brown Elementary.
Pottawatomie County Engineer Nathan Bergman had brought a design plan for a two lane road with a third turning lane at access points to the commission at Oct. 7 meeting. With this two lane design, the project is estimated to cost $7.9 million.
Commissioner Dee McKee was not in favor of the two lane design and even made a motion at that Oct. 7 meeting to design the road as three lane.
