Jacob Broxterman scored 17 of his 22 points in the 2nd half as Frankfort advanced to the semifinals of the 1A Division II state tournament with a 74-60 victory over Colony-Crest in Hays on Wednesday afternoon.  The Wildcats built a 20-9 lead after the first quarter, and extended the advantage to 14 points at halftime.  Broxterman’s effort helped Frankfort (20-5) hold off the Lancers in the second half.  He shot 8 of 10 from the field and 6 of 7 at the free throw line, and grabbed four rebounds.  Alex Surdez also hit five three-pointers and scored 18 points for the Wildcats, while Calahan Brown had 17 points, and Jonathan Keating added 14.  The Lancers (15-9) were led by 21 points from Kyle Hammond.

Frankfort boys basketball now will meet #2 seed Fowler in the 1A Division II state tournament on Friday afternoon at 4:45 pm in the semifinal round.  The Goldbugs beat Cunningham 67-31 in round one.
