Three juveniles were taken into custody by Pottawatomie county sheriff’s department officials early Tuesday morning, in connection with a burglary in rural St. George and theft of a vehicle.

According to Sheriff Greg Riat, Sgt. Brad Rose of the Pottawatomie County Sheriffs Office came into contact with 3 male individuals in a parking lot near Bluemont Avenue in Manhattan shortly before 1:30 in the morning.  The three were in a 2004 Ford Mustang.

While speaking with the male juveniles Sgt. Rose became aware of the presence of an illegal drug. Sgt. Rose continued to investigate the situation and discovered the three were suspects in a residential burglary, and that the Ford Mustang being driven had  been stolen.

Two of the male juveniles are from rural St. George and one from Manhattan . The burglary reportedly involved one residence on two different occasions and was located on Bobs Lane in Rural St.George.

Sgt. Rose did recover stolen property from the residence, a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and the stolen vehicle. The juveniles were transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail and later released to their parents.
