Four of K-State’s 2014 football games are among the Big 12 Conference’s early national television selections, highlighted by the much anticipated September 18 matchup with SEC Champion Auburn, as the league office announced today designations for the opening three weeks of the season and special Thursday night broadcasts.

The Wildcats’ August 30 season opener against Stephen F. Austin will be broadcast exclusively on K-StateHD.TV with kickoff slated for 6:10 p.m., at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. K-StateHD.TV programming will begin at 5:10 p.m., with its K-State Gameday show featuring Brian Smoller.

K-State will then open up Big 12 Conference play in week two, its earliest league game since the 1996 inaugural Big 12 Conference game with Texas Tech, as the Cats head to Iowa State on September 6. The game will kick at 11 a.m., and be broadcast nationally on FOX Sports 1.

Manhattan and Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be the focus of the college football world on Thursday, September 18, as the Cats and Tigers meet in an ESPN nationally-televised game. The Thursday night matchup, one of the most-watched games in the country each week, will be the first in Manhattan since the 2010 Nebraska game and the fourth overall at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Big 12 Conference also announced that the Wildcats’ November 20 game at West Virginia will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1. The matchup, K-State’s second appearance on Thursday night of the season, will kick at 6 p.m. CT.
