The Manhattan Public Library hosted a Mental Health Panel on Monday night to discuss the possibility of creating a mental health care facility for Riley County and surrounding areas.
Representatives from area mental health care providers, the Riley County Police Department, Riley County Commission, and members of the Manhattan community were in attendance for the discussion. A “Task Force” of decision makers was suggested as a means to further efforts towards the creation of a facility in a more efficient manner. Members of a possible “Task Force” will continue to be discussed at a future panel.
