Both the Manhattan High girls and boys cross country teams won the Centennial League cross country meets, which were hosted by the Tribe at Warner Park in Manhattan.  The MHS girls bested Washburn Rural and Hayden in the team standings, and five Indian runners finished in the top 15.  Junior Alaina Schroeder claimed the individual title by over 21 seconds with a time of 15:19.45, while Christina Wankum came in third place.

The MHS boys blew away the rest of the Centennial League with five of the top eight finishers.  Washburn Rural and Seaman finished in a tie for second.  The Indian tandem of Chris Melgares and James Leblow finished 1-2.  Melgares ran a time of 16:40.61 and Leblow crossed the finish line in 16:53.67.

MHS cross country will compete in the 6A regional meet this Saturday at Milford State Park in Junction City.
