    Two Drug Busts in Junction City

    The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group has been involved with two major narcotics investigations in the last two days.  The following is a brief synopsis of those operations;

    On October 16, 2014, at approximately 1504 hours, the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group and the Riley County Police Department, assisted by the Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, executed a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Chestnut in Junction City, and a subsequent search warrant was then executed at a local motel.

     

    The following persons were arrested:

     

    David Bragg, age 30, of Junction City, was arrested for Sale of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine and Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Acquisition of Drug Proceeds, No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp, and Unlawful Use of a Telecommunication Facility.

     

    Soo Burnside, age 31, of Manhattan, was arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp.

    Both persons were booked into the Geary County Detention Center, where they were held without bond pending their first appearance in the Geary County District Court.

    The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group seized suspected Crack Cocaine with an estimated street value of $6,600.00, nearly two ounces of suspected Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a vehicle, and U.S. currency.

     

    On October 17, 2014, at approximately 0515 hours, the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group, assisted by the Junction City SWAT Team, Junction City Police Department, and the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at 1509 Custer Road, Junction City, Kansas.  The search warrant was obtained after a drug investigation into suspected illegal drug activity at the residence.

     

    The following persons were arrested:

     

    Neko Jones, age 19, of the address, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Stolen Property, and Aggravated Endangering a Child.

     

    Naja McCrea, age 34, of the address, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Stolen Property, and Aggravated Endangering a Child.

     

    Both persons were booked into the Geary County Detention Center, where they were held without bond pending their first appearance in the Geary County District Court.

     

    The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group seized suspected Marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the above residence.  A stolen firearm from Riley County was also recovered during the search of the residence.  Two children were also placed in Police Protective Custody.

     

    The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group is a Narcotics Unit comprised of Detectives from the Junction City Police Department, the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, and the Grandview Police Department.
