Firm Date for Army Listening Tour Meeting

A firm date finally has been set for a listening tour involving possible impacts of Army reductions on Fort Riley. Governor’s Military Council Executive Director John Armbrust of Manhattan announced that date during KMAN’s “In Focus” Thursday morning. Armbrust says the tour has been rescheduled a couple of times–and while he doesn’t yet know the exact time or location, February 9th is the date..
At last report it was a January date, but Armbrust says that conflicted with major events involving the Governor and others at the state level. Armbrust indicates the Army was supportive of the re-scheduling,  with the Governor, Lt. Governor, and State legislators tied up on a day when the importance of Fort Riley would be in the spotlight.
Armbrust encourages everyone to put it on their calendar, although there is no exact time or location for the February ninth event.
