    Manhattan Sweeps Junction City

    The Manhattan basketball teams impressed once again, this time against rival Junction City. The Manhattan high girls blasted the Lady Jays at the MHS gym 99-53 to get to the holiday break at 4-0.

    For the second straight game, the Indians place nine in the scorers book led by five in double figures. Carolina Ballard paced the play with 22 points, Kennedy Wilson piled up 16 points while Madison Mittie topped a season high with 13 points.

    Gigi McAtee and Amara Ehie with 10 apiece for MHS. Another fantastic game on both sides of the ball as Manhattan shot 58% from the field, knocked down eight three balls and forced 28 JC turnovers.

    The Manhattan high boys got it done for the ninth straight time against the Blue Jays winning 84-61 with a dominant second half performance. The Tribe (4-0)  connected on 62% from the field in the second half hitting 24 of 39 shots.

    Four players in double figures for the Tribe led by Pierson McAtee with 19 points, Trevor Hudgins chipped in with a career high 17 points. Cole Gritton and Grant Munson providing solid minutes with 14 and 12 points respectively.

    Manhattan heads into the holiday break with a combined 8-0 record, the Tribe is back at it on January 6th on the road at Seaman.
