    Search warrant leads to drug bust Thursday night

    On Thursday evening at approximately 10:40 p.m. Riley County Police executed a search warrant at 311 North 9th St. in Manhattan where officers seized approximately 2.8 pounds of marijuana, over $9,000 in cash, as well as other controlled substances including amphetamine pills, Xanax, and LSD. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia were also located and seized as part of this investigation. Brett Vaughan, 23, of Manhattan was arrested for the offenses of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within one-thousand feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within one-thousand feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia at the felony level, and possession of drug paraphernalia at the misdemeanor level. Vaughan’s bond was set at $20,000. RCPD officials anticipate additional arrests to be made.
