A University of Cincinnati police officer who shot a motorist during a traffic stop over a missing front license plate has been indicted on murder charges and a prosecutor said Wednesday that the officer “purposely killed him.”
The Anthony Nichols trial continued Wednesday afternoon in Riley County District Court with several more testimonies from law enforcement connected with the 2013 murder case. Among testimonies given was Alan Alan Riniker , a crime scene investigator at the time of the incident with Riley County Police. Riniker, who said he’s investigated over 100 homicides throughout his career, told the jury his observations of the scene where John Burroughs was killed. A local youth was selected to serve on Youth Volunteer Corps’ (YVC) International Youth Advisory Board and to represent the local YVC on an international level. A Manhattan man was taken into custody on a couple of warrants Tuesday night. Christopher Cuchy, 22, was arrested at the Riley County Police Department at approximately 8:25 PM. Cuchy was arrested on a probation violation warrant with the original offense listed as making false information and theft and a warrant for failure to appear with the original offense of use/possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. His bonds totaled $8,000.

A federal court hearing has been set for a man charged with plotting to bomb Fort Riley, in support of ISIS. 20-year-old John T. Booker of Topeka, will appear before U.S. District Judge Carlos Murguia on August 19th, in Kansas City, KS. A public defender representing Booker filed a motion under seal on Tuesday. Attorneys and prosecutors had until Wednesday to file any pretrial motions. Court documents reveal that Booker was arrested in April, when he tried to arm what he believed to be a 1,000-pound bomb, in a van near Fort Riley. Booker is facing charges that include attempted…
