According to a Riley County Police report released on Sunday Levertis Horne was arrested on Saturday evening at the Riley County Police department on drug charges. The report states the arrest stemed from possession of a hallucinogen, and possession of paraphrenalia for the growing or distribution of drugs. As previously reported by KMAN Horne was convicted of several charges  in connection with a home invasion in October of 2012 on Saturday.  Police are saying they would not release any other information Sunday, but are expected to release a statement in the upcoming week.

Developers of 24 units in the Birchwood Villas addition on Scenic Drive are asking the city of Manhattan to waive connection fees for water and sewer lines in consideration of their “affordable homes” status.  Developers say the rental rates for the two to three bedroom apartments will be capped to keep them within the price reach of lower income occupants.  The total amount of fees to be waived comes to $24,726. KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) One of two scientists from China accused of stealing trade secrets from a Kansas research facility hasn’t been able to make bond because a bank wouldn’t give his wife a loan. A federal grand jury indicted Weiqiang Zhang and Wengui Yan in December on conspiracy to steal trade secrets and theft of trade secrets. They’re accused of stealing rice seeds from Ventria Bioscience’s facility in Junction City, where Zhang worked. Yan worked at a federal rice research center in Arkansas.

Motorists will need to file an accident report for any event during this period of time at the Law Enforcement Center located at 1001 S Seth Child. The showdown at the Centennial League wrestling tournament went the way of #2 Junction City, who bettered #4 Manhattan High by 17 points on Saturday in the Indians’ home gym. The Tribe did have four individual champions, 120 pound Mason Wallace, 126 pound Devin Norris, 132 pound Kian Clemens, and 160 pound Austin Chauncey. Wallace was voted the Centennial League Newcomer of the Year, and MHS’ Bob Gonzales was named Centennial League Coach of the Year.

Marcus Foster scored a career-high 34 points as Kansas State began the game with an 18-4 run and never looked back as the Wildcats cruised to a 74-57 victory over Texas Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum.
