The Cats took a 19-17 late in the first half on a Katya Leick three pointer, but the Mountaineers ended the first half on a 26-5 run to lead 43-24 at halftime. Marcus Foster scored a career-high 34 points as Kansas State began the game with an 18-4 run and never looked back as the Wildcats cruised to a 74-57 victory over Texas Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum. Riley County jurors have found Levertis Horne, 22, guilty of a number of charges in connection with a home invasion case that occurred in October of 2012. Horne had been tried last year, but the case resulted in a hung jury. Horne was found guilty on four of the six charges against him after almost five hours of deliberation. The jury announced late Saturday morning Horne was convicted of the attempted aggravated robbery of Tyler Sweet, attempted aggravated robbery of Andrew Johnson, aggravated burglary, and the aggravated battery of Chase Cargile. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) The Kansas House is considering legislation to lessen restrictions on people who brew beer, wine and cider at home so that they can legally enter competitions. House members gave the bill first-round approval Friday on a voice vote, setting up a final vote Monday. Kansas law permits home brewing if the product is consumed only by the brewer or the brewer’s family. Otherwise, a brewer must obtain a manufacturer’s license that can cost up to $5,000, plus a distributor’s license that can cost another $2,000. To help promote their football exhibit, the center is taking time to feature a number of different colleges and high schools in the Flint Hills area.
