An enclosed trailer was reported stolen from a local business recently. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department reported, that around the 23rd or 24th of November, a trailer was taken from a business located at 809 Levee Drive in Manhattan. The trailer is a 2009 H&H enclosed style model, with tandem axles. It’s seven feet in width and 14 feet in length, and is white in color. The estimated loss is over $5,000. The Manhattan high girls and boys basketball teams open up the season Friday night at the MHS gymnasium with a sweep of Dodge City. In the first game, the girls dominated the Lady Demons 58-25. The Tribe was paced by Caroline Ballard who finished the game with 19 points, Amara Ehie also provided 10 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Crowds lined the street all the way from the Manhattan Town Center to Aggieville Friday night to watch the lighted floats, trucks, and even people, horses, and dogs. Manhattan Mayor Wynn Butler presided over the festivities, with several former Mayors assisting in judging float entries. Those present included former Mayors Brad Everett, Mark Hatesohl, Bruce Snead, Loren Pepperd, and Tom Phillips, who currently serves as 67th District St. Representative. Canned food donations were collected for the Flint Hills Breadbasket, with the Aggieville tree lighting in Triangle Park following the parade.
Members of K-State’s Black Student Union, joined by community allies, marched through campus and Aggieville Thursday evening in a campus-wide protest.
