Marcus Foster scored a career-high 20 points and broke the Freshman record for most three-point baskets in a season but it was not enough to sustain a late rally as the Kansas State Wildcats lost their second consecutive Big 12 Basketball game as they fell to Iowa State 81-75 Saturday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. Chelsea Gardner scored 21 points and CeCe Harper added 16 as the Kansas Jayhawks held off a late comeback by K-State as they defeated the Wildcats 71-64 in Big 12 Women’s Basketball action before an announced crowd of 6,337 Saturday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum. A line stretched back down Tuttle Cove Road as volunteers queued up to join the search for Jane Peterson.  Peterson has been missing since the 19th of January, and authorities say her vehicle was found near a shower point in the  Tuttle Cove area. The search is organized by Peterson’s family with the support of local Emergency Response teams. Riley County Emergency Response coordinator Pat Collins says this search is a follow up done after the initial searches for Peterson conducted earlier in the week.  The Peterson family has garnered permission from local land owners to search their property,…

I-70 has been reopened after a vehicle fire at milemarker 318.    Riley County Police were encouraging those traveling to take Highway 99 to avoid the area and allow personel to extinguish the fire and clear the scene.   The cause of the fire is still unknown.   But again, I-70 has been reopened.

Both Manhattan High and Emporia were heading into Friday night’s contest with winning streaks. The Manhattan High girls were rolling into Emporia with a six game winning streak while the Spartans were riding high on a three game winning streak.
