K-State men’s basketball picked up it’s second commitment for the 2015 recruiting class on Wednesday night when Florida combo guard Barry Brown made his choice known on twitter. Hays High School quarterback Alex Delton signed a financial aid agreement with K-State today. Delton is a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com who committed to the Wildcats in February. Manhattan sales tax receipts are up for August. Numbers just released indicate the amount collected was $894,136, $28,457.95 more than forecast and higher than last year’s $848,704. It’s also $27,429 more than the budget. A reminder August figures actually reflect two months prior, or June. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Kansas officials say about 20 percent of the state’s 1.74 million registered voters took part in this month’s primary elections. Secretary of State Kris Kobach chairs the three-member State Board of Canvassers, which certified the results of the Aug. 5 primaries on Wednesday. Nearly 351,000 ballots were cast. Kobach had predicted 22 percent turnout. The 20 percent participation was the lowest for a Kansas primary election since 2006, when it was 18 percent.
