Jeff Mittie’s first Big 12 game at K-State will come on the road at Iowa State on January 3rd. The Wildcats will get three of their first five Big 12 games at Bramlage Coliseum, starting with reigning co-Big 12 regular season champion Baylor on January 6th. Then K-State will play Kansas at Bramlage on January 10th for the Dillons Sunflower Showdown. Lester pitched six strong innings and Donaldson homered twice and drove in four runs as the Athletics won 11-3 Tuesday night, snapping the Royals’ eight-game winning streak. The former Microsoft CEO’s record $2 billion purchase of the team was confirmed by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday, clearing the way for the avid pickup basketball player to take over the team from Donald Sterling, who unsuccessfully fought his estranged wife over the sale. KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) Police have released the names of an elderly couple found dead in the northeast Kansas home over the weekend. Officers were called to the home in Kansas City, Kansas, on Sunday and found the man and woman dead in a car inside their garage. They were identified Monday as Gerald Lorfing (88) and his Mary Lorfing (86). Authorities have not released any details on how the couple died. The police department’s Major Case Squad asked to hear from anyone with information about the deaths.
