Hunger U is an internationally-known effort that strives to end hunger on a local level by raising awareness at college campuses across the nation. Monday and Tuesday, Hunger U crew members set up shop in Bosco Plaza, just outside the K-State Union. The Kansas City man charged in connection with a first degree murder case, where  John Burroughs (68) was found dead in his residence, appeared in Riley County District Court via webcam Tuesday afternoon. This incident took place in September of last year.  Prosecutors say Burroughs was stabbed to death by another man, after Anthony Nichols (37) had shot Burroughs in the head.  The two other people charged in the incident were James McKenith (33) and Christina Love (49), who both appeared in court Monday. Two individuals were injured after an accident on Tuttle Creek Terrace. The accident took place at 7:30 Tuesday morning, when Ryan Rouston (32), of Manhattan, was driving his 2002 Jeep Liberty southbound on Tuttle Terrace.  Megan Hartford (32), also of Manhattan, was driving her 2003 Volkswagon Golf west bound on U24. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Rouston failed to stop at a stop sign, which caused the vehicles to collide. Rouston’s vehicle rolled onto its side in the east bound lane, and Hartford’s vehicle went into the south ditch. Both Rouston and Hartford sustained injuries and were taken to Mercy…

28 non profit organizations were featured during last year’s Grow Green Match Day event, and this year the number grew to 32 non profits. For a 12 hour period on Tuesday, representatives from non profit organizations  were located in the Colony Square Atrium, at 555 Poyntz Avenue, helping individuals to make donations.  When a donation was made, the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation “grew” it by 50%. Earlier this offseason, K-State men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber told KMAN of his plans to bring a “Big 5” opponent to Bramlage Coliseum during the 2014-15 season.  The Cats’ opponent is now official as Georgia will come to Manhattan on December 31st with a return trip to Athens on December 22nd, 2015.  It’s the 6th straight year K-State will face an SEC opponent, and the matchup with the Bulldogs will be in addition to the Big 12/SEC Challenge.  That game will be on the road, and according to Weber will not be at Ole Miss, who played at Bramlage last season.…
