Two people were injured in a Geary county accident on I-70 Saturday. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Grace Doering, 82, and Paul Doering, 87, both of Overland Park were taken to Geary Community Hospital following the accident, reported at 11:35 a.m. Saturday on milemarker 298 in Junction City. KHP indicates a 2011 Toyota Camry driven by Grace Doering was westbound on I-70 when it went off the roadway into the median and drove over the embankment. The vehicle landed on the intersecting roadway of “E” Street under the bridge. Both Doerings were wearing seatbelts.

Junction City Police are reporting a drug-related arrest, reported shortly before seven Sunday evening. Todd Ites, 25, of Junction City was taken into custody in the 800 block of North Jefferson Street. No further details are available at this time.

The 17-year career of K-State men’s golf coach Tim Norris came to end on Saturday when senior Daniel Wood shot a three-under par 69 in Columbia, Missouri at the NCAA Regionals. Norris announced his retirement before the season, and K-State named his replacement on Sunday, 15-year coaching veteran Grant Robbins. The 2012 Conference USA coach of the year led his alma mater, Memphis for the past 11 seasons, earning five regional bids, including the last four seasons. Robbins has ties to the area, as his wife Brooke is a Wichita native and a K-State graduate.

Updated at 10 a.m. Monday: The victim of Sunday’s fatal boating accident at Tuttle Cove has been identified. Riley County Police announced shortly after 10a.m. Monday that shortly after 10:00 PM Sunday emergency crews recovered the body of Matthew Mann, 25, of Junction City. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a victim of drowning The other two passengers who were rescued by a bystander have been identified as Jessica Regodos, 22, and Joshua Jacobs, 28, of Manhattan.
