NEW ORLEANS (AP) Ryan Succop kicked six field goals, one to force overtime in the final seconds and another from 31 yards to lift the Kansas City Chiefs to a 27-24 victory over the winless New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Succop’s 43-yard field goal with 3 seconds left completed a methodical comeback by Kansas City (1-2) after the Saints (0-3) had cashed in on a pair of Chiefs turnovers to go ahead 24-6 in the third quarter. Update! Tuttle Creek Boulevard reopened at 7:30 a.m. Monday. Older story: Due to a rockslide along the west side of Tuttle Creek Blvd at the intersection of Casement Road, all southbound traffic at this intersection is being diverted. Northbound traffic can proceed as usual but southbound traffic on Tuttle Creek is being diverted east onto Casement Road. Drivers should expect delays and would be best served to avoid the intersection. This closure began at approximately 4:30 Monday morning and will continue indefinitely. A Riley County Police dispatcher indicated officials are trying to get machinery in to fix the road.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, the Flint Hills Discovery Center opened it’s doors to families for free. The center offered a number of educational activities, such as; a scavenger hunt, quilting showcase, rock science experiment, outdoor prairie chore time and live prairie animals.  All of the activities were spread out throughout the duration of the day to ensure that no matter what time a family arrived, there would always be something going on for them to participate in. OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) A fire caused at a suburban Kansas City auto dealership caused about $400,000 in damages. The Kansas City Star reports (http://bit.ly/POx9Jo ) that the fire at the Overland Park Mazda dealership was reported early Sunday. When firefighters arrived the garage behind the dealership was in flames. The fire took about a half-hour to extinguish. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A spokeswoman says officials at Kansas’ Wolf Creek nuclear power plant take safety seriously and have corrected a problem that led to a January shutdown. Jenny Hageman commented Friday after the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said it dropped its rating for the plant in the east-central Kansas town of Burlington. The NRC says it plans additional inspections. The Jan. 13 shutdown followed a loss of off-site power. The NRC blames an electrical short caused by improper wiring. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A Tabor College football player found beaten and unconscious in McPherson nearly a week ago remains in critical condition. Police found 26-year-old Brandon Brown, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound red-shirt defensive lineman from Sacramento, Calif., lying near a road unresponsive early Sunday. He was taken to a hospital in Wichita where he is on life-support. SALINA, Kan. (AP) Officials attended an official groundbreaking this weekend for a new training center for the Kansas National Guard. The Salina Journal reports (http://bit.ly/QaiQkm) that Brig. Gen. Eric Peck cut the ribbon at the Saturday groundbreaking for the new outdoor facility that will be built at the Kansas Regional Training Institute in Salina. Maj. Dan Matthews says Salina was chosen by the national guard because a lot of training already takes place in Salina. Col.
