Fort Riley soldier killed in Afghanistan

Fort Riley is mourning the loss of a 1st Infantry Division soldier killed in Afghanistan.

22-year old Private First Class Brice Scott died of wounds sustained from small arms fire on July 31 while pulling security at a strong point in the Kandahar Province of Southern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Scott was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.   He joined the Army in March, 2010 as a cavalry scout and made his first deployment to Afghanistan with the 4-4 Cavalry in February, 2011.

Scott is survived by his wife and one child
