Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered that the State of Kansas fly flags at half-staff on Friday August 19th to honor a fallen soldier.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Bryan Nichols died on August 6th while serving his country in Afghanistan.

CW2 Nichols was assigned to the 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment.  He was one of 30 Americans killed when their Chinook helicopter crashed after taking enemy fire.

CW2 Nichols leaves behind a wife and son.
