Rick Wright, head coach of the Manhattan Christian College men’s soccer team, will be inducted into the National Christian College Athletic Association Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021.

Wright began coaching at MCC in 1992 and has since led the team to three national championships, 19-straight NCCAA regional championships from 1997 to 2016, been named the NCCAA Coach of the Year four times and coached 20 NCCAA All-Americans. He currently has a record of 388 wins, 118 losses and 11 ties.
Several MCC staff members, including president Kevin Ingram, wrote letters of nomination in support of Wright.
Ingram says Wright’s induction is about more than just his accomplishments as a coach.
“It is just a really well-deserved honor because of not only his success as a coach, but more importantly, his success in developing men,” Ingram said. “Men that are strong not only in character, but in their service and in their focus and in their commitment to Christ.”
Wright, who began working at MCC in 1989, also serves as the college’s vice president for student life.
MCC plans to hold a celebration in honor of Wright’s induction sometime during the spring semester.
